YOUR LICENSING PATHWAY

For the establishments behind quality medicines.

Pharmacies, drug stores, pharmaceutical wholesalers, traditional medicine establishments, sanitizer producers and ophthalmology centres. Manage your establishment’s licensing and related changes here.

AAFDA licenses establishments. Individual health-professional competency licences are issued by the Addis Ababa Health Bureau.

    Complete the establishment and address details requested on the form.

    Choose and save the services offered by your establishment.

    Review

    Check the saved details and documents. Follow the submission action shown for your application.

    Inspection

    Follow appointment requests, inspections and results in the inspection dashboard. Complete any requested actions.

    Upload Files

    Attach the supporting documents requested for your establishment category.

  6. 06

    Payment

    Follow the displayed invoice and payment instructions. Keep the receipt with your application records.

  7. 07

    Submission confirmation

    The Success screen confirms submission. Return to your applications to follow the outcome; this is separate from licence approval.

Renewing instead? Select the existing licence in your account after the renewal inspection. Follow the document, payment and confirmation screens shown for your renewal. Available screens can change when an application is returned for correction. Download the certificate once the responsible office completes the licensing process.

Which portal is right for my licence?

AAFDA licenses pharmacies and food or health-related establishments. Health professional competency licences and health facility licences are issued by AAHB. AAFDA also carries out regulatory inspections of health facilities.

How do I verify a licence?

Enter the licence number in the form on this page, or scan the QR code on the certificate to open the public record. You do not need to sign in.

Can I renew or update an existing licence?

Yes. Sign in and select the existing licence to renew, upgrade or manage it. Address changes are available for both sectors; pharmacies can also request a change of technical manager.

Where do I find invoices and receipts?

After signing in, use Payments to view invoices and payment history. Follow the amounts and instructions shown for your application.
